International Day of Sport for Development and Peace I As the city of @caenofficiel celebrates its Millennium, sport becomes more than ever a vehicle for shared history and peace. 🕊️ The D-Day Landings Marathon brings together over 30,000 participants from 67 different countries, all united in a common spirit of solidarity to pay tribute to the heroes of D-Day and the Battle of Normandy. Each stride becomes a symbolic act: a living tribute to memory, freedom and peace. These profound values, engraved in the DNA of the D-Day Landings Marathon, transcend the race and remind us of the importance of preserving the legacy of those who worked for peace. 🏃‍♀️👟

Thanks to you, 2025 promises to be a historic edition, where sport for all and the promotion of the region and its hidden treasures will be at the heart of the event. A true celebration in the exceptional setting of @millenairecaen2025. 🤩🫶

🔥 A huge thank you to the 770 challenge participants. We've enjoyed following your races, discovering your routes and feeling your enthusiasm for making the city of Caen a real sporting playground!The objective over the last 3 weeks? To highlight the diversity and richness of @caenlamer's heritage while offering the chance to win the latest bibs for the 10km - @canormandie, the Pegasus Half Marathon and the D-Day Landings Marathon, all events that are keen to showcase the area's historical treasures. 🏰🌍🏛️ This joint initiative by the organization and the GIP @millenairecaen2025 illustrates the desire to promote the Caen area as a land of sport and culture. Between city and nature, history and modernity, this initiative enabled 770 runners to rediscover their territory from another angle, while celebrating 1,000 years of history in motion.Winners have been contacted 🎉A total of 210 km of 10 km, 630 km of Half Marathon and 168 km of Marathon were won.
